Home on the Range

The collective noun for a group of Guineafowl is a 'confusion', which seems appropriate as they are not intellectually gifted birds. They are on the other hand, very efficient at keeping our Metricup vineyard free of a variety of pests, plucking off mites, weevils, caterpillars and grubs whenever they arise, as they tend to feed in one spot until everything has been eaten.

Remarkably, they also act as a deterrent to foxes, rats & snakes as they have a loud piercingly high shriek.

Independent, low maintenance and skilled fliers when thing get unsettling for them, our little gardeners are both useful and entertaining.
