The wine is a rich deep red in colour, whilst the nose shows vibrant blackcurrant, raspberry, mulberry and black cherry fruit characters. Perfectly integrated oak offers creamy vanilla, spice and mocha nuances. There is an abundance of juicy berry fruit on the palate, which is framed by fine-grained tannins and cedary oak, with each element impeccably balanced. This exceptional vintage means that this wine drinks beautifully now, but will continue to gain complexity for at least 10 years.
Winemaker's Notes
2004 vintage in Margaret River was near perfect for reds and whites in terms of both quality and yield. A cool spring/summer promoted slow growth and highly concentrated fruit flavours. This was followed by a long warm late autumn ensuring ideal sugar/acid/alcohol ratios.
Viticulture & Vinification
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes enjoyed the long mild, slow ripening conditions of an “Indian Summer” throughout March and April to obtain optimal ripeness. This is our sixth release of the Juniper Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
