Our Wines ; Crossing Wines
The Crossing wines fulfill a different purpose from the Estate wines. They are our more easy drinking style with an appropriately lower price tag. We would like them to be enjoyed every day while the Estate wines remain the pinnacle of our ambitions, spending more time in oak (in the case of the reds) and being released later. Estate reds are released late in the 3rd year after vintage, Crossing Shiraz in the later part of the 2nd year after vintage and Cabernet Merlot at 18 months – 2 years old.

Black/purple in colour, this fresh style of Tempranillo (a Spanish grape variety) is bursting with dark fruits such as plum, black & red cherries, blueberry with a background lift of jasmine, a hint of liquorice & dried herbs. The palate is fine & juicy with raspberry jube & liquorice all sorts flavours & backed up with fine tannins. This is a terrific early drinking style of red wine also with medium term cellaring potential & perfect with something like mushroom risotto. |

The 2007 vintage was a terrific one with plenty of sunshine for close to perfect autumn ripening. There was no problem getting the Merlot grapes flavour and tannin ripe with balanced crops and canopies.

This is a fresh lively style of wine, with a bright strawberry colour. The nose exhibits lifted fruit characters of raspberry, red cherry & redcurrant along with spice & dried herbs. The palate is fine, soft, juicy and full with ripe berry, spice and red liquorice flavours. The finish is fresh, savoury, crisp and dry. Best served chilled as an aperitif or alternatively, given its compatibility with varied cuisines, with a wide range of foods from Mediterranean to spicy Asian styles.
