Latest News > 2006 Juniper Crossing Cabernet Merlot

The Crossing wines fulfill a different purpose from the Estate wines. They are our more easy drinking style with an appropriately lower price tag. We would like them to be enjoyed every day while the Estate wines remain the pinnacle of our ambitions, spending more time in oak (in the case of the reds) and being released later.

Reviews:

There was no Estate Cabernet for Juniper in 2006, hence one-third of this blend is wine that was made for the Estate, right through to the barrel. Not surprisingly, this is a great Crossings with lively, concentrated blackcurrant and capsicum fruit, supported by coffee oak and hints of tobacco WBM 100, Cabernet & Blends tasting, Tyson Stelzer, July 2009

Complex and earthy, with red and black fruits, oak spice and vanilla. Full-bodied and full-flavoured, with lovely balance. Drink from 2009
Decanter, Panel Tasting, West Australian Cabernet & Blends, February 2009

Nice example of a medium-weight appealing blend from Margaret River. Dusty oak overlays the lush blackcurrant and dark plum flavours. Vibrant and lively, with plenty to offer. 86/100
